Colin Calnan and Emira Mears are Raising Eyebrows in Vancouver

By: Keith Loo, April 12, 2012

We are excited to have Colin Calnan and Emira Mears from Raised Eyebrow Web Studio (community rock stars and MWNW friends) join us on our Vancouver Community Night on April 17.

Raised Eyebrow Web Studio Inc. is a Vancouver based digital firm that works primarily with non-profit clients to hone their strategic use of the web. Raised Eyebrow’s core team of Drupal and WordPress developers are committed to Open Source, standards based design, and accessibility across platforms.

Colin Calnan, Raised Eyebrow’s Senior Developer is a problem solver par excellence. Colin leads our in-house developers in building elegant, custom Drupal sites like the distribution built for Data Public. His Masters in Design and Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh, his past experience in usability, design and project management make him a huge asset to our team. This summer, Colin will be teaching the University of British Columbia’s first Drupal course, Building a Website with Drupal 7, a course he has designed for UBC.

Emira Mears is one of the founding partners at Raised Eyebrow and a veteran of the industry. Her many strengths include a keen strategic eye, and a natural ability to find the ideal balance between effectiveness, efficiency, and long-term value. Her gifts for facilitating dialogue and coordinating large teams of stakeholders make her a particularly effective strategist, and she brings this commitment to inclusive and people-centered design to every digital project she engages in.

We look forward to hearing from Colin and Elmira – you can too, by joining us at the Make Web Not War Vancouver Community Mixer on April 17.
