Getting Intimate with Windows 8 App Development

By: Anita Chauhan, March 6, 2013

So, what does Windows 8 app development entail, really? Well, we’re here to help demystify and get you close and personal with the whole process. This weekend, March 10, 2013, from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Web Not War has teamed up with DevTO + HTML5 Toronto + Javascript Toronto to bring the Toronto developer community a workshop on Windows 8 app development.

“So you want to learn how to build apps for Windows 8?” tickets are only $5.00 (what a steal!) and this Sunday’s event is the first of 3 events planned to get you acquainted with Windows 8 app development. Look forward to the following:

•    Intro to Windows 8 Keynote
•    Install-fest to get your development environments up and running – so bring your own laptop (more details on laptop requirements and setup can be found on the event page linked below)
•    Windows 8 design overview and paradigms to keep in mind when building your apps!
•    A great networking session with people in your industry!

This event includes Web Not War’s very own Frederic Harper and a whole host of other great speakers who want to show YOU the ins and outs of Windows 8 development, in a fun, interactive environment.

The next two workshops will be planned for March and April; all culminating in a neat little surprise at the end! For further event information and to purchase a ticket, check out the event page here.

Come on down and get learning; spaces are limited so sign up today (it’s only $5.00, remember?).

There will be some great swag and we are giving away a MICROSOFT KINECT as a giveaway prize!

Hope to see you there,

#DevTO Community Manager
